Apart from writing up-to-date content, your post should be very relevant to SEO as well as for the user so that it reaches the place where you want it to be. For example, if you’ve created a blog about football so the keyword density of football should be high so that it appears to search engines that your content is relevant to your blog.

Another method to get backlinks is to utilize the opportunity of comments on commentluv, Dofollow enabled blogs. Social media can also help you in getting quality backlinks so share all your post to all the social media sites (Facebook, Google plus, Twitter, Digg, Delicioushttp://delicious.com/, etc) but do not over post or spam.
