How to Submit Your Website to Alexa

What is Alexa?
Alexa is one of the most authentic ranking tools online. Alexa
provides traffic data, global rankings and other information on thousands of
websites, and claims that 6 million people visit its website monthly. It is
useful for case studies of website statistics. Why is Alexa Important?

can further give the information to the owner how well is he/she is targeting
her respective field.
*You can use Alexa to keep an eye of the traffic of your
competitors and compare your traffic with their.
*It even shows how many backlinks your website has.
You must have realized how essential Alexa is for your
website. Now here’s a guide, which will help you with submission and claiming
your site.Step #1 Certifying your Website
First you need to go to the homepage of Alexa
and create an account. You can either register your account at Alexa by
entering certain details or you can just simply login using your Facebook
account. Direct login using Facebook will save your time but it’s up to your
which method you want to use. Once, you’re done creating your account, simply
click on the Alexa siteinfo tab and
type your domain.
After searching your domain it will show Alexa rank for your website and backlinks. Just click get details and it will redirect you to something like this.

Now, click the arrow button besides the text ‘This site is
not certified’, a drop down menu will open. Click on the first column which
says ‘Certify this site’ and you will be redirect to the pro plan page.

You
would see that Alexa offers different kinds of plans and prices but I would now
recommend free plan for a normal blog. For a serious business site I would
recommend you to use a PRO plan. You can grab the information about the
packages and it’s pricing here.
Click on signup under free plan.
Step #2 Claiming your Website
After you have signed up to Alexa it will show the
verification ID you need to insert to your domain. You can add the verification
ID by using two methods. Either upload a verification file to the root of your
domain or add the verification ID in meta tag in head section. If you have a blogspot blogger then you can go
template> Edit html and paste the code under <head> section.
Example: <meta name=”alexaVerifyID”
content=”xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” />
After adding the Verification ID to your website/blog you
can go to alexa and click ‘verify claim’ and if everything is done properly then
a successfully claimed message would be shown.
Press continue and you can edit details about your site such
as URL, site title, site description as well as Alexa rank in country and your public
contact details. Some features are locked and can only be used by choosing a
PRO plan such as editing logo and links to your pages.
